
Posillico has performed pre mobilization activities, including receiving delivery of project materials such as liners, erosion control supplies and snow fence. Posillico began the installation of erosion control measures.
Posillico finished clearing and grubbing on the south slope along with removing debris located in this area. Posillico also performed activities associated with establishing the project support zone, including leveling and re-grading.National Grid’s fencing subcontractor was on site for the installation of fence and gates.
The Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) installed a temporary utility pole outside of the excavation area. This pole will temporarily replace the one located with in the excavation area once the cables are moved.
Two-Week Outlook
LIPA will relocate the cables on the utility pole located within the excavation area to the pole set last week. Once the cables are relocated, LIPA will remove the former utility pole.
Posillico, AECOM and GEI personnel will be mobilizing to the site on June 7, 2010.
Posillico will begin mobilizing more equipment and personnel to the Glen Cove site starting on June 7, 2010. Posillico will be performing re-grading work associated with excavation area preparations, for equipment and trailer staging areas and for the site access road. Posillico will finish the installation of erosion control measures.
